Hello Tiffany, I'm Belinda.

To be able to call Tiffany & Co. a ‘regular client’ is a ridiculous honour. But we’re chucking imposter syndrome in the bin, so let me show you what an event with a luxury label is like.

This particular activation was for Mother’s Day, and I always have a display portrait on the day. This time, they said I could illustrate me and my kids, with the standard gold leaf finishing. Brb, cherishing this portrait forever.

When I arrived, I was told Tiffany & Co was holding their high jewellery event upstairs - Diamonds and Wonders. I was lucky enough to be asked upstairs to have a look (!). Front and centre was Dua Lipa’s Met Gala necklace - I was very uncool and asked if I could take a photo (above). It was big, 100 carats of sparkle, and intimidating.

There was a room I couldn’t take photos in, which housed Argyle pink diamonds (above). They’re named after the Argyle mine from where the diamonds were mined - which is now dry. As in, that’s it folks. Tiffany & Co were offered their pick of diamonds, and acquired a few. Then a collector bought the whole collection. Some people have all the fun.

Where was I? Oh, portraits. I hope this one makes you smile like it did for me. The client provided 3 photos, two of her and her daughter - and one of her wide-eyed cat. I believe she flew in from the Gold Coast to attend the high jewellery event (don’t quote me) and wanted the Harbour Bridge drawn in. But those green eyes made my night.

We had a lot of pet mums in the house.

At a luxury event, each portrait goes out to valued, high end customers and therefore each needs the appropriate care. At these events, I get to take a bit more time to ensure each portrait gets the attention it deserves, so the recipient appreciates and knows it has been drawn just for them.

Here’s my outfit from the event. Blazer and shirt from Camilla & Marc, pants from St Mrlo.

Hope you enjoy my new series of bringing you along to my events! If you have any questions, please pop them below, or find me hanging out on Instagram.

cheers, Bel x
