Yes, You Cardi-can!
I’ve been wearing an old season Toteme cardigan and it’s getting lots of love on Insta, so have put together an edit. I am very picky when buying things (I grew up in a frugal way, and my mum was a tailor so taught me all about fabrics/cuts). There once was a cobalt cardigan I LOVED, but it was polyester so 🥲 But I have no regrets because it would’ve pilled and only been around for a season or two. We are against that kinda thing over here at BXS.
Cardigans are hard cause they can look granny-daggy pretty easily (unless that’s your vibe, totally fine). I’m also not sure about those thin ones that look like they’d pucker round your boobs when buttoned up (y’know the ones I’m talking about? Sometimes they come with matching bralettes). I also haven’t included any longline cardigans cause I personally get too much of a bathrobe vibe from them.
Anyway, here’s an edit of cardis I’d buy and keep forever, some more fashun than others.

Bohemian Traders Aran Cable Knit Cardigan
I saw this on Eleanor Pendleton’s InstaStory last night, it’s 100% cotton. Looks like a good throw-on thing to go to the shops, school pick up etc.
(That girl also knows her way around a curling wand..)
Self Portrait Striped Cardigan
Stripes and I go way back. There was a time it was a uniform, and the entire family would be dressed in stripes (unintentionally). I like that this one is a little preppy, a little nautical. Also, pockets. (The number of times a lack of pockets has swayed me is annoying.)
Friends with Frank Agatha Cardigan
Specifically, the chocolate marle version - it’s so rich, ain’t it?! Mostly mohair & wool, I luurve the sleeve volume. Gives it a bit of shape (but the sleeve cuffs seal the warmth in 😅 this is important).
It’s deceitful to show you the purple version, because it’s sold out (and was my favourite colourway). But I like that it’s a hybrid of cardigan x jacket. 100% Cotton and still comes in Cream & Black. Again, pockets. (Blanca is very oversized, would size down).
Sportscraft Tatiana Mohair Relaxed Cardigan
Cobalt is my favourite colour (also my mum’s, so I apparently inherited it). At the moment I’m staying away from mohair cause little kids x mohair = sneezing & pulls, but if I were a lady of leisure I’d love to wear it over a white tee, black Marine Straight jeans. (Cardigan also comes in lilac, green & black.)
Viktoria & Woods Hart Merino Cardigan
I think it’s styled really well here, and more a transitional layering piece. Can see it under coats, or worn exactly like the model, over some jeans. And pure merino wool, so will keep 👏 you 👏 wam 👏 .(Stop talking Bel, or you’ll be $390 out by the end of the day.)
Now for the giggle - here are the ones that didn’t make the cut.
This one gives Lizzie McGuire vibes (oooh, throwback - Hey now, hey now!) but a no from me 🙊 No doubt the style will make an appearance on some influencers though, while we watch and scratch our heads.
Here she is!! The boob puckering cardigan that surely can’t be flattering on anyone that’s not waif?! Bra seems optional, so I just have so many logistical questions.
